By the leading of The Holy Spirit, Word of Truth Ministries International was founded by Bishop Lester M. Cox and his wife Lady Vanessa Cox on March 4^th, 2007. Bishop Cox resigned from a denominational church where he was senior pastor for six years to further pursue God’s call on his life. The initial service for “Word of Truth” was held in The Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts. In attendance was Bishop Cox, his wife Vanessa, and their two children L. Matthew and Hilary. Along with his family, there were one hundred and twenty (120) persons in attendance. The congregation moved to The Nassau Palm Resort Hotel ballroom for two weeks of services after being informed by the management at the Dundas Centre that they needed to use their main building for Fine Arts performances. God orchestrated after further discussion that the management of the Dundas Centre informed us that they had another Assembly Hall building on their property that we could use for our new church but it had to be renovated and cleaned. After viewing the building Bishop Cox indicated that we would take up the offer and we went to work painting and cleaning and constructing office space and stage for our new church.  Everyone chipped in because “we all had a mind to work” and with labor from our members and friends we were able to completely renovate a 300 seat sanctuary with office space. We stayed at the Dundas for 4 ½ years and God blessed us further so that we were finally able to obtain our own property in June 2011, Word of Truth Boulevard and Fire Trail Road West. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

God remains faithful to us and we are excited about what God is doing as we continue to follow Him and experience growth. Bishop Cox’s desire is to nurture and mature a people through The Word of God to be effective in their home, their church, and their world for Jesus Christ. This is the beginning of our story and we pray and believe that with God’s wisdom and guidance we will write many successful chapters as we journey into our future so that God would be glorified.
